Open-Source Culture Platform for Multi-Cell Type Study with Integrated Pneumatic Stimulation

Mechanical forces can influence the structure and development of healthy cancerous cells tissue microenvironments, acting on their physical shape promoting non-genetic alterations during growth. For this reason, it is interesting to investigate role dynamic hydrostatic compression such cultures, assess stimuli key parameters, as cell differentiation, stiffness cytoskeleton rearrangements. In work, we present a versatile Arduino-based pneumatic system for stimulation culture performed in standard multi-well plate, designed work inside CO2 incubator. The capable modifying pressure dedicated chamber following desired pattern, and, thus, providing mechanical stimulus growing it. human respiration-like pattern was used, mimic stress conditions lung alveoli, make platform compatible with tissues organoids.
